Nadi, Fiji - Advanced Simulation Technology inc. (ASTi) is providing two Simulated Environment for Realistic ATC (SERA) systems to Fiji Airways, Fiji’s National Airline. Next year, SERA will integrate with two Level D full-flight simulators in the new Fiji Aviation Academy.
SERA provides realistic radio communications with unique, “human” voices, teaching students to interact with air traffic control (ATC). Students can select and run predefined training scenarios using intuitive web pages. As a result, instructors no longer need to role-play ATC and can focus on training during each session. This solution enhances any flight training device, bringing a level of immersion and crew task loading previously unavailable.
SERA fully complies with the latest industry requirements for Simulated ATC Environment (SATCE) solutions, which include the “Manual of Criteria for the Qualification of Flight Simulation Training Devices” (ICAO Doc. 9625, Ed. 4) and the updated ARINC Specification 439a.
Fiji Airways selected SERA after an extended procurement process that included a test drive and comprehensive questionnaire. This award confirms SERA as a leading SATCE solution in the marketplace for flight simulation training devices. ASTi looks forward to working with Fiji Airways at the Fiji Aviation Academy, bringing this innovative training technology into daily operation.
